Empower Youth, Protect Water

Water Wise Youth aims to educate and empower youth to become stewards of our precious water resources

Programs

Water Wise Youth offers a variety of programs aimed at educating young people to become stewards of our valuable water resources. Our initiatives focus on hands-on learning and community involvement, fostering a deep understanding of water conservation and making a real impact on our daily sustainable practices.

Water Literacy Workshop

Our workshops educate youth on sustainable water practices through presentations followed by interactive activities. Participants gain valuable knowledge to advocate for their communities.

Water Quality Monitoring

As citizen scientists, we volunteer to monitor water quality in local waterways in collaboration with local environmental organizations. Volunteers are instructed how to test the samples, read, and record the data.

Water Treatment Facility Tour

We partner with local water treatment facilities and organize tours for student groups so that they can learn about the wastewater treatment processes and its impact on protecting public health and local waterways.

About Us

Lucienne Keyoung, Founder

As a resident of Manhasset Bay and student deeply involved in water-related research, Lucienne was surprised by the lack of education on local water issues among the youth in her community. This gap in education motivated her to create her environmental initiative, Water Wise Youth, in 2024. By fostering a sense of responsibility and empowerment, Water Wise Youth aims to create a lasting impact on youth in their water usage and conservation efforts.
